First off, let me apologise to all who live in Las Vegas area. You guys are suffering a severe heat wave, but I guess you must get use to it.

Also I'm sorry for not contacting any of you while I was there for the week. My laptop suffered a severe crash and lost everything. So I was unable to get online.

Back on topic...I test drove a V10 and all I can say is WOW!!!

All the stories, the praises, and the hype are absolutely true. It is unbelievable that that much power comes on tap at just a twitch of the throttle.

It was an '09 with only 2900 miles and the price showed. I am now once again in love with the Touareg. I'm in the market for the elusive V10. Now all I have to do is find one a little older that has a price tag in my range.

I still can not believe how much fun it was driving the V10 and how long the smile stayed on my face. I start to smile just thinking about it.:D

You probably drove an 08 since I believe VW stopped bringing the V10 into the states after 08.

Yeah, but lets not miss his point while we busy correcting him;) Yes, the V10 motor in the Treg is an awsome piece of machinery and it sounds like we have another convert:cool:
I have driven one and it is no doubt an awesome motor. I just don't plan on purchasing one anytime soon. Repairs for certain things on that scare me since you have to drop the motor in order to do it.

If it was test driven in Vegas at a dealer to the west of town... yeah, I know that V10... the silver 2008. I took it on a test run, or should I say, I took the salesman on a run. :)

Passed on that one... 61k best offer about 1 month ago. Not for a 3k miles 2008.. But there are plenty of V10's to be found. Almost got one myself :)

They used the V8 in the Q7 because it was smaller than the V10 and was therefore a point of difference, but it has now been followed by the V12 TDi in the Q7.

I suspect that the Touareg will end up with the V8 TDi, but not the V12.

Yes you are correct on the silver and the dealer West of town. They did come down a little since then ($57k), but still to high for me.

I confess...I'm converted...V10...V10...V10...V10!!! There goes that damn smile thing creeping up on me just typing $hit about it again. This is going to be an obsession isn't it?

Earl, If you ever buy a V10 TDI, the privelage to enjoy driving one everyday is VERY rewarding :) :) I still smile and feel very proud to drive mine! It's been almost 1.8 Years, and I love my baby.

Plus, the fuel economy AND power!
