Anyone please help My Touareg keeps going into safe mode (turbo over boost) only when held at 2200rpm, so every time you drive at 72mph it goes into safe mode, if I deep the revs at 2000 rpm it doesn't happen .Turn engine off then back on and it resets The sensor and the valve has been replaced and still the problem, the hoses look ok, no obvious splits I can rev right up to 4000 through the gears and it does not happen Please help it's driving me mad and the garage has no idea

Your vanes in the turbo may be stuck.

Check if your VGT mechanism arm behaves like this.

it should read if I keep the revs at 2000rpm

can you get it scanned with VCDS?

VCDS is software where a laptop with this software can scan the on board "computer" of the vehicle which could pick up any sensor anomalies in the car and could lead you to a potential problem

Can you post a video of your vgt mechanism like i did.

Perhaps the boost sensor is faulty or the egr valve is stuck

Perhaps the N75 valve is not giving/bleeding enough vacuum to bleed boost.

attached to the turbo is vacuum pipe. Make sure that pipe doesn't have a hole and is not kinked or blocked.

Follow that vacuum line to the N75 valve. From that N75 valve will be a few other pipes. One of them ends in a breather cap. Make sure the cap is good and not blocked and allows air to get pass.

If you don't come right send me a PM and I will try to make a detailed video of what to check.

Make sure this pipe does not have a leak and it is not kinked or blocked with crud

This is the N75 valve - check that the connector is tight

This is the N75 breather. It needs to be clean. Take the pipe and try and suck air in from the end that doesn't haven't the little filter. It should be VERY easy to suck air through that pipe.

omg thank you so much for your help I've checked all that and it's all good

Get the factory mapping back
Blank the EGR with a blanking plate. Two bolts on the throttle body and slip in the plate that can be laser cut from the gasket as a template.

Get someone to run a boost log (specified vs actual)
