Wheel arch mod required.(5 min job)

Nice! Any rubbing at all? Can you explain the wheel arch mod. . .or give me a link?

I just got a 2008 V10, and am discovering that you can't find any worthy 19 inch tires. I think I'm going to have to pick up some 18 inch rims.

 

I think he is referring to cutting some of the intercooler vents on the inside of the front fender wells. Nothing is needed in the rear at all.

It Really was easy. Step 1 remove torx screws. Step2 drill hole above torx screw that is below the inter cooler duct. Step 3 attach a hoop/U piece on the inner side of wheel arch. Step 4 use zip ties/ cable ties through Upiece and around intercooler pipe and tighten. Step 5 put torx srews back. No Cutting

This moves the arch in +- 1/2 inch or so. Front wheels only rub in sports mode at full lock. Auto mode offroad and extra are clear.

 

Thanks for the link. I was just poking around the wheel wells today, and noticed that there was some room to move things around. Really frustrating that all the tire makers make aggressive tires in 18 and 20 inch rim sizes but nothing for the 19's that came on my V10.

It's nice to see some Touaregs around here without 20 plus inch rims and high performance tires.

I've got the 265/65/18 Hankooks and didn't need to do anything. No rubbing at any setting or load.

 

I think the tires differ brand to brand. The tread on the Bfg is really deep plus they are brand new so after a couple of thousand km/miles they prob wont rub is sports mode.
