Hi Folks,

Looking for some assistance here. I am looking at purchasing a 2012 TDI Lux. Silver with saddle brown leather. My question (see enclosed photos)... How unique is it to see this interior color scheme? saddle brown with cornsilk trim and chocolate (dash, steering wheel, etc). I have NEVER seen this combo. Not saying I've seen it all, but it's different for sure....

Thoughts???

That's what the saddle interior looks like on all of them.

Yes, this is true. I have NEVER seen a picture that does this saddle any justice.

I personally fell in love with the combo the first time that I saw it. But for my wife, it was nearly a deal breaker, and IF we would have had a choice, since would NOT have chosen this color, still to this day. It's not her favorite.

She told the salesman when we first sat it in for the test drive that the color looked like babysh!t brown. That actually is a pretty accurate adjective to use if you were describing the color, but it does look good...

I had saddle on my T2..didn't get it this time around because I didn't like the brown dash/steering wheel etc. T2 had the seats in saddle color and all other trim as would show up in a black interior.

I like all the interior colors in the T3 personally and I agree the vehicle and this interior in particular look fantastic in person.

I think the saddle brown and brown dash are not the same shade of brown. The brochure shows it as the same but in person the dash is brown and the seats and door trim have more of true saddle brown. My opinion of the saddle brown doesn't matter. :)

I have this interior and love it! There are several shades of brown in the interior. It has a nice rich look to it and a nice warm feel to it. The dark brown carpet helps to keep it looking clean. On the 2013 model year it was only available with certain exterior colors.

It's a nice look. Unique. The headliner and pillar trim is too creamy with the saddle brown and cornsilk interiors. I was considering the cornsilk at one time with silver...very rare combo.

If the saddle brown seat color was the exact color of the brown dash and trim (meaning the seats would be a darker brown) - I would be sold on it - but for now I am sold on the black leather on my flint grey TDI - very sharp IMO!

I'm the same, it was too many shades of brown/beige for me. I'm in love with my black interior.

I also do like the oddball colour combos like silver on cornsilk.

It's so rare that we cannot get it. Notice the two-tone seats? Those are the true R-line seats. The rest matches the R-line here.

Do love the black headliner. Also, I prefer the exhaust pipes on the standard T3 here...very cool. The R-line pipes are round...meh.

I also really dislike the round pipe, especially compared to the very slick "ordinary" tips.

I like the 2 tone seats and black headliner in the R, absolutely hate the aluminum trim. I wish they would do an oddball/exotic wood trim instead of aluminum, something like a zebra wood or light teak wood.

Aluminum trim to my eyes is boy racer from the year 2001.

Yeah, a light wood or olive wood would be cool and give good contrast. I've seen it in some Audis. Aluminum is okay but it's too much on the center console, IMHO. I wonder if it reflects sun glares...happened with my Passat B6 Sport that had the aluminum trim.

Well I'm 27 which would put me in the younger metro crowd and I love the wood grain hands down over the aluminum!!!

It's all determined by what VWoA thinks will sell here. Would be great if we could special order but that would mean we have to move to Porsche.

I have been entertaining the idea of making some of my own carbon fiber pieces, just for fun and see how well/poorly they turn out. It would be great if I could build a re-usable mold and try replicating some trim pieces in CF. Not really interested in making money, just want to challenge myself and see if I can even do it.
