Last Friday when I got home from a 200 road trip, I got a CEL. The CEL went away, but when I scanned it today, I got:
1 Fault Found
009299 - Diesel Particulate Filter; Differential Sensor
Headed to the Dealer tomorrow afternoon to have them look at it, and would appreciate any help or advice.
I have researched the forums, including Chris Farnaham's (RIP Chris)Warranty thread, and have some questions:
1. Does the DPF just need to go through a regen cycle?
2. Can the regen be done with a Vagcom or VW's Computer?
3. If it is a bad DFP, is it covered as Chris said in a post. It seems pretty clear in my manual that the DPF Filter is covered under the 8 year/80k Federal Emissions Warranty, if it fails a smog check inspection, but smog check inspections are not required where I live.
4. What does it cost to replace the filter?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
