OK everyone, we need to check out Singh's new V10 - and there seem to be a good number of new Touaregs bought in the last 12 months or so - so let's do it soon.
Does anyone have a favourite or new place for us all to go?
To begin with, I'll suggest that we meet somewhere like Wiseman's Ferry or Cooranbong and go into the mountains - either the Watagans or maybe Yengo...

As to when, it is always difficult to find a time that suits everyone - We could manage a day on either the weekend of 19/20 or 26/27 July.

Over to you folks.......

Well someone has to make a move....Sunday 20 July meet at Wiseman's and then head up north spear left and back along the Putty or right for the quick freeway trip home to Sydney.

But hay always open to a better run :D

Hello Neil

Great idea. 26/27 July would suit us better (end of financial year...). Wiseman's Ferry start sounds good, however after that I would have no idea (only lived in Sydney just over 2 years) so we would love to explore.

It would be good to some faces to names or aliases.

good stuff, lets do it. happy to do it either weekend.
meet at wisemans, cross over in the ferry, head to devils rock thru yengo and then take the track to putty road. Theres two ways out; the longer one will take about 2hrs offroad and the condition, from what i remember from 2 yrs ago is easy.
look forward to it!
and hope no one minds helping matthew if he gets stuck in the pajero ;)

OK Singh, sounds like a plan...

Now who's for picking the dates?

Bob can you make it that far north? What about Bails, I am sure Singh will need some V10 lessons?

cheers,
..Neil
Probably the Sunday of either weekend, but I don't mind...

i cant make it on the end july weekend, but that's ok i don't have an egg :(

is every one welcome?
All you need is to BYO Touareg for entry... Also spouse / partner / friends, and we do accept the occasional stray in a different vehicle if pre-arranged :D. If I remember correctly, it would be best to bring picnic stuff for lunch...

cheers,

..Neil

PS Luke, are you around somewhere? Do your contacts in VW still exist? Some corporate support would be good if possible!

Havent seen Luke around much, I'll give him a buzz to see if he's still part of the club and keen. Are we looking at Sunday July 20th now?

#12 ·
seems like sunday 20th is getting all the votes...should we lock it in and move to planning the day, etc

#13 ·
Lock it in Eddie...

So.. Sunday 20th July, meet in the park at Wiseman's Ferry (Sydney side of the water) at 9am...

Drive to St Albans and then up the road and follow Singh's navigation from there...
Bring easy picnic lunch stuff and off we go..

Now for some numbers:

Moonan
Singh
BobZ
Flipper
Hoodie?
Pye03?

Who else???

G'day
I'm a newbie, still coming to grips with lots of stuff. Karen and I would love to come along to meet fellow drivers and families and get some insight into Touaregs and try a bit of 4WD stuff.
July 20, 9am Wisemans Ferry, see you at the sign...
Regards
Kevin

good show Kevin, look forward to meeting you guys

OK Guys IF and after the piss poor performance from Austral thus far it's a bif IF the R50 is delivered by the end of next week I'll see you there to say hello. Not sure the 295/35 low profile tyres will be much good for anything but a trip to the pub at st Albans sounds like fun.

dont worry steve i'm riding on 285/45/19s....cant wait to get proper rims/tyres....this track is easy....you wont even have to engage low range...the drive beyond the pub is a dirt track and the few following kays to devils rock are not challenge

great stuff Frank, look forward to catching up again!

Good job Luke.

Looking like a pretty good list. I'm looking at somewhere to stay for a couple of nights. Maybe it's time to give the camper an outing in the cooler weather.

Anyone got any tips for good spots not far away?

Cheers

Hi Luke and Frank, it'll be good to catch up... and to meet some new faces!

Bob, there is no shortage of places along the Hawkesbury near to Wisemans Ferry if you want - from little B & Bs and guesthouses to caravan parks etc. Google is your friend.

cheers,

..Neil

#28 ·
great to hear from you Luke! look forward to it.
Also, wondering if we can get vw on it again?

#29 ·
OK - so how many do we expect on Sunday? I'll be there, with wife, with or without kids.

VW have not responded to me yet (my contact has moved to Skoda and has given me the new representative's details, but no word back), so I wouldn't expect to see them there.

See you all bright and early on Sunday.
