Sweet coolant smell oddity

Bought it with 118,000 ever so often I noticed there's something sweet smell like coolant coming from the rear of the motor that I suspect now which I find odd. I know the auxiliary water pump is there towards the driver side. Are these known to leak? I was thinking maybe it was the water pump cuz of how many miles are on it and it being the original but I have no signs of leaks even when I'm under the car searching with the light or my oil changes nor do I see any loss of coolant. I really only notice the smell if I'm like sitting in traffic with the windows open when the car is off I don't really smell it

Has anyone experienced this before? Not worried if I'm not losing anything but at the same time I kind of want to fix whatever might be failing

As above have the coolant system tested to see if it holds vacuum.
On my '11 I've had the coolant control valve on the passenger side towards the bottom develop a very small drip that would then get burned off when it hit hot parts on the engine. I never noticed a leak and @ that time wasn't paying close enough attention to the coolant reservoir level.
If you do have a slow drip the vacuum test will reveal it.
