Suspension/Tyre Question

Hey guys,

I recently fitted 275/50 R20 tyres to my 7P Touareg which came with stock 275/45 R20 tyres.

I put the suspension in jacking mode before the tyre change etc. My question is do I need to recalibrate the suspension because of the taller tyres?

I don't have any rubbing issues, just asking because maybe the car needs to relearn the heights because of the taller tyres?

Regards

I Suppose you will be required to calibrate your speedometer to accurately reflect your speed. Since you've changed you profile to higher diameter of your tires. I changed mine and I kept getting tickets which made me wonder why would I get yet I am on speed limit until I realized the speedometer was not reflecting my actual speed.

Seems unlikely... German law requires that speedometers never read low, so all German cars have a large margin of error, where they read too high intentionally. Mine read about 3mph (~5 km/h) fast with stock tires, and when fitting the largest diameter tires that can fit without moving the intercooler, it now reads dead accurate per GPS speed.

I changed tyre size from 265/50x19 to 255/55x19 which is a 2% increase in rolling radius - a GPS check showed that my speedometer was now reading correctly - given that speed cameras have a tolerance built-in, then your increase must have been massive if you're getting tickets.
