For some time there were leaks on the top of the right - driver's (the car is in Botswana, Africa) pillar as well as at the left back one. Three times attempted repairs by the authorized VW service (once they changed the rubber on the door, once they cleaned the drain pipes and once they changed some pipe in the roof) without success. Finally I organized with my panel beater to remove the roof liner and check where it leaks. The leak is not from the draining pipes nor from the connection of the draining pipes with the sunroof try (I thought that that might be the reason) nor is anything blocked but the water is collecting and dripping from the corners of the tray (see pictures).
Any idea what this is exactly? Seal between the body and the sunroof? Something else. How to fix it?
I am really reluctant to remove the sunroof without knowing what to look for but on the other hand must stop the leaks.
