Check with a tire store. I'm sure they'll know.

My inflatable spare is now 10 years old. Not sure I'd trust it, either. If I was going to rely on it, I'd look at getting a new one.

But since I run a set of 5 oversize tires, it's not an issue.

 

As above, call around your local tire stores and get a price for a new tire.

 

I will check but wanted to know if anyone here has actually done it and if they had any issues or other input. My local independent tire just put on my new tires has never done one of these.

Then I would throw a can of fix-a-flat in the back, make sure your AAA card is up to date and call it good unless you regularly drive out in the boonies without cell service.

 

I have the can of gunk which I would rather not use, it screws up the tpms sensors. I do carry a repair kit but want the tire. Plenty of other used and new on Craigslist so I’ll make sure and actually test it first.

If I inflate mine to check it, can I deflate it and put it back in? I’ve been mulling around doing that but I’m a little worried it won’t fit back properly when I deflate it.

 

Yes, of course you can.


When you deflate it do so on a hard surface - not sand, gravel or grass - and keep your fingers and children well away as it folds back in on itself.
