Looks like I am going to need to replace a J519 controller next week as everything is pointing to the controller. My passenger side headlight will not power up and the dealer has replaced two modules, all the lamps and still no power. He is currently tracing each wire to ensure continuity prior to commiting to the control unit. My question is this:

It's a 2006 V6 with 110K miles. It received it's first replacement battery during this visit to the dealer and have not given me any trouble typical of early rigs.

If I have to go the J519 route, should I buy the unit online? If so, who might have one that I can trust is an OEM factory spec'd unit?

Early thanks,
Jason

BTW: I am not exactly mechanically inclined so a DIY is not ideal unless very straight forward (as in plug and play) I have replaced headlight bulbs and headlights but that's about it.

The onboard power supply unit more than likely has to be Oem. May have to buy from dealer, but parts geek, or some other VW online like jimellisvw probably sells. It is located under the steering wheel under the dash. Would definitely check wires first. There is in E-box in the footwell under the dash. There are relays plugged in and the entry /start authorization unit. Think J519 plugs in from the bottom and should be easy to spot, rectangular component much bigger than a relay.
