Hello, our county’s emission testing has gotten very strict. I removed my secondary cats 10 years ago when I added a custom exhaust. I now need stock secondary cats to pass emissions testing. Retail would be $3000 to replace both. I’m wondering if anyone knows of a part-out vehicle that may have secondary cats for sale from a V8 FSI. Or if anyone has a pair lying around they’d like to sell…

The AXQ cats will bolt up.
Part-out V8 FSI are EXTREMELY rare.
After a little googling, it seems the cayenne secondary cats will also bolt right up. I say this because my local self pull salvage yard has an 06 Cayenne 4.5 V8 that I could see if the cats are still there. I'm not even sure if they sell the cats, but I can find out.

Thanks for the reply, I wasn’t sure if the AXQ had the secondary cats. I bet the Q7 4.2 V8 cats would also be compatible. That would be great if you could check to see if the cayenne at your local pull salvage yard has the cats and if they are for sale. Please let me know.

My wife's 06 V8 just got squashed by a tree, it's totaled and in a lot in Louisville KY. Lemme know if that helps

They don't sell them unfortunately. A private part-out would be the best option.

I’m sorry to hear your wife’s Touareg got squashed by a tree. I would love to have the secondary catalytic converters. I wish I was near Kentucky I would remove them. Do you know if the lot sells used parts?
