I'm having no success with trying to replace the driver seat bottom cover. It is cornsilk beige on my 2014 TDI LUX.

If I could just find the right material I could have it repaired.

Isn’t it Nappa leather? Can’t you just go to an upholstery shop and ask them to match the colour and retrim it?

VW uses either genuine leather or leatherette depending on the trim level you have.
As mentioned a professional shop should be able to match you with the correct material.

The SPORT trim has "V-Tex Leatherette" (VINYL) seating. I believe the higher trims are leather. Even the replacement VW vinyl seat cover is close to $500, same cost as someone mentioned for real leather. It's expensive because it isn't just the seat cover material, it's also inclusive with a new seat heater built in. I researched this about 2 years ago. My vinyl seat had two cracks and the regular repair kits did not color match perfectly or remain fixed for more than a couple months. They even got stained by my jeans.

I wish I knew if the seat covers were symmetrical from driver side to passenger side and I would pay a auto upholsterer to swap them. The crack would be hidden against the transmission tunnel then. They are involved in removing though and not worth the effort for me. Might even find a cheaper entire seat at some point.

The Vienna leather seats, mid-range, aren't symmetrical - there's a side piece in fabric on the tunnel side and leather on the door side.

I bought a cheap ($120 on sale) front seat cover set, bu tonly installed the drivers seat base cover. It's a "universal" fit, which means it doesn't fit perfectly. Coverado seat covers is the name of the company.
Although the finish quality looks great, nicer than my OE leatherette seats, the problem is the fit. The front cover straps (2) one covers my seat drawer cubby where I store my folding umbrella. A nuisance.
But, the real issue is the sides of the seat cover do not wrap down snug on the sides. The plastic side panels prevent this, and the rear straps system cannot be effectively routed around the seat back hinges. So the cover bulges loosely at the sides, like a bubble. For now, I will use it as is, to maybe prevent further degradation of my OE seat cover. I tried to get those back straps to pull lower, but ended up getting stuck in the hinge of the seat, and wrestled a minute to free it. Ugh.. Oh well.

I am looking at maybe "MAYBE" trying to make my own modifications to it, but will probably end up ruining the seat base cover. I do have 2 anyway so I have a backup in case that happens.

I'll probably end up taking the car to an auto upholstery pro, if I can find one locally, and get a quote on a good repair. If it is less than $400 I will probably bite.
