screaching noise coming from rear

Hey guys, hope you can help. I have a 2010 touareg v6, 20k mileage. While I was driving I heard a loud high pitched screatching noise started coming from what I believe is the right rear tire. It sounds like I am dragging some metal or something. It does not make the noise while in reverse. But it continues while in neutral moving forward. I plan on taking it to the shop shortly. It usually gets louder when I turn left. Does anybody have any idea what it might be, or has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same happen when a stone got lodged between the brake calliper and the disc (rotor).. How long has it been happening? Not doing it in reverse sounds very much like a stone, and under power or not...yep sounds like one to me.

Reversing the car fast when you've picked up a stone and then braking hard usually gets rid of the stone.

Dont bother. Have someone tear apart your rear brakes and inspect your emergency brake assembly.

ODDS ARE: your hardware kit failed and logged one or BOTH shoes into the rotor assembly where it is NOT suppose to be. The PROBLEM WITH THIS SITUATION: it quickly overheats the drum that is built into the rear rotors. CAUSING: the drums to crack in several spots.

ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS ;-) OH and contact me if you would like pictures of said problem ;-)
