Those two big bolt that hold your caliper must be torqued at 180Nm. Use new bolts as VW says, they are cheap.

I loosened the infamous bolts last night and was surprisingly easy. I gave it a shot of PB Blaster, perhaps that did it.

 

When you have good access then it's not a problem. But those bolts shouldn't be greased so clean everything good with brake cleaner. Good luck.

 

I must agree, hardest part of the job was to get those four bolts torqued to the spec, not much space.

Correct, you need to find the section applicable to your car.

 

Going to need to do my brakes again soon. Can you use an impact wrench to get the 16mm bolts off on the rear brakes?

 

Get the car up on a hoist and use a long bar.

I wouldn't use an impact wrench on that. There isn't much room behind the disc also.
