I also dislike the wood and would love carbon fiber but how much money are we talking to do all the wood trims?

I am putting CF on my interior trim right now. I am using a 1x1 plain weave instead of the normal 2x2 weave. I wanted to be a little different this time. I have done my BMW and some other BMW's. I have laid the CF on the center console pieces already...about to take the other pieces off. I am going to do a thread with pics as I go along. here is a pic of some pieces I did for my BMW...

Those look beautiful! I'd love to see how your pieces turn out for the touareg! What would you charge to do something like that if I were to remove all the panels and ship them to you?

Thanks, I enjoy working with CF and especially enjoy working with new pieces. I did my paddle shifters on the BMW too...you can see them peeking out behind the steering wheel picture. I will send you a PM.

As promised some work in progress pics of my TReg interior trim. I am using 1x1 plain weave. The pics above, is a 2x2 weave for comparison. I like the 1x1 a lot, as it is a little different from what i did to my other car. Sorry for the bad cell pics, but it is all I have at the moment.

the pics with resin on them are as they are drying with no sanding out high spots or imperfections yet...so they are not perfect...yet. :D

The first pic is of the ashtray lid and gear shift trim
2nd picture is of the cup holder trim and gear shift trim
and lastly are the other trim pieces, door, dash and rear vent trim with the raw CF cut out to the right size before I start the resin process...

Hope you enjoy. Thanks

Thought I would show a few of the finished pieces on my T-Reg...hit me up if you have any questions or want to send me your trim.

The pictures of the ones I did are real carbon fiber not hydro dipped or vinyl. I had hydro dipped on some parts of a car once...it looked good, but nothing compared to real carbon fiber. The depth and dimension you get with real CF does not compare to anything else. Send me a PM if you need more information about getting real CF in your T-Reg. Thanks

OK...thanks for the link and picture. Do you mean real CF like the 10 yards I have? Did you know the VW, BMW, and other car manufacturers put real carbon fiber (like I do) over OEM trim?? To my knowledge only true exotics make structural pieces out of CF and even then not on the interior trim.

there are kits and DIY's out there and I would never steer someone away from that if you want it. Some people don't have the time and experience nor do they want to get messy and experiment on their trim. Thanks for the information though...it is noted.

Congrats on your 500th post BTW

Many thanks.

The OEM VW "carbon" trim is just an aluminium foil to my best knowledge (I may be wrong).

Yes, the vast majority of people are amateurs here. The club is the place where the members share and help each other as may be deemed to me. There is a special classifieds section for commercial posts over there. Moderators are very kind here, and the policy relaxed. At Russian forum the "businessmen" trying to post ads (even implicitly like yours) of commercial nature bypassing the club administration are immediately banned forever and their relevant commercial posts deleted.
