(pardon the newbie question, but I can't seem to find a concrete answer to this question from these boards or googling. Not due to lack of information, but too much to make sense of it all...)

I have a 2010 Touareg TDI Luxury package and would love some help with the radio/bluetooth unit. Three questions:

1. The phone bluetooth capability works, but doesn't give me address book/contacts capability with the MFD. Is this possible? Could I upgrade so that it does? My 2010 Eos has this function.

2. Can I get bluetooth audio functionality to play music?

3. What connector do I need to purchase to be able to use a phone/iPod to play music?

4. If I wanted to upgrade my radio head unit, any suggestions with the previous three questions in mind?

Here is a photo of my head unit. Thanks in advance for any/all help.

I have the exact same unit as you do.

I am considering upgrading to a Sony, Pioneer, or JVC 7" touchscreen with bluetooth streaming and iPod Touch integration. I *think* the best option is something MirrorLink equipped, as I'm a Samsung / Android user and I want to use Google Maps. Will be a call to Crutchfield when I pull the trigger on that. I think that will be a good $600-800 when it's all said and done with correct harnesses for steering wheel controls and Sirius and everything.

I currently have a Prolink 2.0 ipod unit that retains my steering wheel controls, but it doesn't display song info. Installation was pretty easy, but the system has some bugs and you have to choose between Sirius and ipod unless you buy more harnesses, and at that price, I think I would just buy a new head unit.

Interestingly, when I activate my bluetooth, my phone asks me to authorize the car to allow access to my phone contacts, but I don't think there's a way to use the MFD to display them....
