Pardon my 'simple' question but my Touareg came from Quebec so the owners manual I received is in french!

There are 2 buttons that I haven't figured out yet or read about on here:

1. On the underside of the rearview mirror there is a button when pressed turns a green light on, on the mirror, but nothing else as far as I can tell?

2. On the left side of the steering wheel there is a button situated in the same spot as the warmer that's on the right; what does the left hand side one do?

The left hand button on the steering wheel enables or disables lighting for your cruise control and other controls on your steering column.

Green light? Seems like accent lighting which was replaced by red later and the disappeared on the 08s...

The button on the mirror enables (green light lit) auto dimming of the rear view and side view mirrors.
