I'm fairly close to buying a 2015 model year Touareg to replace my existing 2012. A couple of questions that I haven't seen answers to based on some searches.

First, has anyone complained about steering wheel vibration at 60+ mph on the 2015?

Second, is the model year 2016 essentially the same as the 2015, or is a refresh coming?

Thanks in advance.

Why go from a 2012 to a 2015? There are absolutely zero differences unless you are going from say a sport to a luxury...

60 plus mile an hour steering wheel shake is likely due to improperly mounted wheels.

2015 and 2016 are the same exact thing. Very minor differences anyhow.

If 2012 TDI to 2015 TDI, there's the CATA > CNRB change. not entirely insignificant. Also if VR6 to VR6, there's the factory programming requiring 91 on the 2012 and being cool with 87 on the 2016.

Even exec to exec, there are things a 2012 Exec would not have that, ****, a 2015 Lux has. electrical steering wheel adjustment w/ memory + easy entrance/exit (goes up when turning the car off, comes back down when you turn it back on). ACC, i dont think T3's had ACC? I think that may be T4 only??? could be wrong.

2015 IS the changeover year. only differences 2015 to 2016 are ventilated seats on Lux/Exec. 2015 = no ventilated seats. 2016 = ventilated. also Executive 2015's got 20" Talladegas with 275/45/20's. 2016's got 21" Mallories with 275/40/21's.

At first I was really disgruntled about this as I have a 2015. But then I realized that with ventilated seats, every time I committed heinous anus I'd probably asphyxiate myself, careen off-course, take out a family of 5 crossing the street and a school bus full of crotch goblins at the same time.

So, in theory, my 2015 saves lives.

I wish I had ventilated seats on mine, black leather with the sports interior pack with black everything is horrendous in Brisbane heat

I've never owned a car with ventilated seats before this one but I have a feeling the implementation in the Touareg leaves something to be desired. It's not particularly effective. Like I really only feel it when my back is actively sweaty. If I'm not already sweating, the ventilation doesn't really do anything. But if I'm already sweaty, then naturally that cool air on the wet skin feels great. It's the best leaving the gym.
