I am looking into purchasing a set of wheels and tires from a Q7 that already has TPMS moniters in them. Will these work with the 2004 TPMS in my Touareg?

According to the Beru site, both the Touareg and Q7 use 433 mhz sending units, so your Q7 wheels should be fine.

Beru made some changes in the system between 2004 and 2007. Thats why none of the 2007 Tregs have TPMS. It might work all you can do is try it and hope for the best. You can always move your sensors from your old wheels or buy new. If you move them replace the stems for a good seal.

To the original poster, I'd say go for it and it will probably work.

The way the info is displayed and the relearn functions are different. I don't know how much change is in the sensors. They might just work, if not he should be able to sell the new ones for a set of old ones. NAPA now has the old sensors for about $60 and stems are $16.99.

Do you have the Napa part numbers for the sensors and stems?
Need a set for my winter tires and don't want to pay $267 a tire for the sensors and stems from the dealer..

Try Tire Rack. I paid $69 ea for senders, $7 ea for the valve stems
