Hi gang,
My first post so be gentle with me guys!

OK, my brake pad light started shining and I kept threatening to get the pads changed but never found the time.

Anyway, next thing is my parking sensors stop working. Just see 2 red lights left and right but no amber and green and no beeps as I approach the wall.

Then my trunk stops opening all the way and stops halfway. If i manually lift it to the top it stays there and then when i close it everything works as expected.

So, I eventually got the pads changed so that's done.

Is the parking sensor problem related to the pads not being chnaged?

Is the trunk thing related to an electrics problem?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, too it to a mechanic today who is going to get it on the computer to see if he can work out what's happening

Thanks

Parking sensors have nothing to do with your brakes. They don't like high pressure water tho' so if you've been pointing a hose at them . . .

Sounds like the hydraulic rams may have failed on your tailgate - mine used to open about 70% and then needed help before I had the rams replaced under my warranty.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think they were related.

Funny you mention high pressure water, I take the care through a car wash which might have done the damage :(

How much did you pay to have to tailgate fixed?

Cheers

I didn't - the warranty company did! I tried to recall the value of the claim when I posted but time has slipped by.

You might check to ensure that the tailgate/trunk open height memory wasn't inadvertently set. Open the tailgate, then manually push the tailgate all the way up. Then press and hold the close button on the tailgate until the tail lights flash. Then close the tailgate, and then open it using the keyfob to see if it opens all the way. It's a long-shot, but just another thing to check before you spend the $$$ to get it fixed.
Cheers

enigma you are a bloody genius, I did what you said and the thing is working sweet now!!!!

You saved me $$$'s man (or woman)

Now just got to work out why the paring sensors not working.

A new problem yesterday, the display was telling me to slow down or reselect (can't remember exact words)

It seemed to be related to the gears though as another message popped up and said put it in neutral?

Electrics are playing games I think

I think it is time to have the battery load tested or replaced.

That's the sort of message you get when trying to move to low range from hi range and vice versa. It says to put in neutral until it changes and the slow down bit may be because you were going too fast at that time? John
