any one heard of the following.
on 2004 V10 - car was in shop last time for almost 8 weeks. glow plug cyln. 1 replaced. misc. computer flashing
picked car up still had problems, made new appointment, drove car for a week before appointment.
took car in for:
1. check engine light, problem is glow plug cyln. 8 (this is the 3 time for glow plug. cyln 2&3 replace in october, cyln. 1 last month now cyln. 8) is this common in the diesle?
also, i am getting about 14 mpg. this is horrible. i never really got below 16-17. i am also feeling that the car has lost a tremendous ammount of power especially at the 2000 rpm range. in addition on slight inclines with very littly throutly imput i am getting a shutter/vibration. any ideas as to what this could be. they replaced a drive shaft and center carrier last month
2. drl intermitenly turn off durning day light when switch is in automatic mode. took it to the dealer when the problem occured to show them i was not crazy. they witnessed it, now when the car is in for repairs they said they could not replicate the problem and cant fix it. what do i do about this. it drives me crazy when the drls turn off and the dash dims durning the day. and please nobody suggest to manually turn the light on and off, i want the automatic sensor to works properly (just like it has been in my gmc yukon for the past 4 years!)
3. the car used to dip lower in the front when you opened the front hood to inspect the engine. it is no longer doing this, so i complained. the service writer said he spoke with the "rep" and that no touareg does this, even one's like mine equipped with air suspension. this is BS as i personally have used this feature on my car, and now they are telling me it doesnt do it. what do i possible say to the service writter about this one?
i have been fed up with VW since i took possesion of this vehicle, such a shame because we really liked the brand and have been happily driving golfs for many years. short of going to a new dealership, i have no idea how to resolve my problems and get the car fixed properly.
