Well, we have come to financial terms!
The final paperwork is on its way to my email.
Slight modification however. The R Line is not available/not built in Tungsten Silver so I now have a Blue one secured and will be here end of March/beginning April. WoW!

Congrats!!! Blue is nice! It was second on our list of top colors.

My wife gave a ride to a woman from her fitness class yesterday who was thinking of buying a BMW SUV, but she was so impressed that she is now considering the Touareg. Some people can't get their head around a VW that is higher end than some BMWs and Mercedes.

My colleagues from Europe all know about the Touareg though. One said, "Where I come from that is a really high end car." And another from Germany who drives a Macan said, "Congratulations, I hope you know that you just bought a Porsche."

Exactly my thoughts on the Porsche. When I first got interested in the Touareg several years ago, it was because there was a group of German tourists taking pictures of one on a dealer lot. I was in the lot next to them at a coffee shop and overheard them speaking with the salesman. They were blown away by the price here compared to EU, mostly due to luxury taxes.
They all spoke very highly of the Touareg, including comparing them to the Cayenne.

  • 20" 'Mallory' alloy wheels (R-line) $0.00
  • R-Line Package $2,375.00
The following item will be Deselected

  • 20" Masafi alloy wheels $0.00
You should be getting the 20" 'Mallory' alloy wheels here in Canada, anything else someone changed your wheels with out you knowing. It is standard for the Rline.
Exactly... we do not have mallory wheels as an option in the US.They look so much better than the exec wheels we get here.

The Aust spec R-Line comes with 21" Mallory alloy wheels, but pana sunroof is optional.
It is otherwise fully loaded.

The price difference is not as significant now with the declining Euro. Of course, where you are in Canada, they are downright cheap with the drop in the $CDN. Anyway, as far as I know, the prices in Germany are about roughly equivalent, but in Euros, so a $55K model here costs about €55K in Germany. That works out to around $62K. I have no idea if German dealers are flexible on pricing like here or if the asking price is the selling price.

Blue nice color, Exec line Rhine, I am pretty sure you are ancious to get it. Well worth the wait.

We only got the R-Line for 2013 and 2014 MY's .

You can't get a 2015 R-Line in the US.
The 2014s are still new though and at $11K off, someone who wants one should snap them up. Personally, I think the R-Line features are better in warmer climates and the Sport, Lux, and Exec models are better suited to cold snowy climates of New England.

The price is a bit deceiving though because it includes $4500 in dealer incentives, which cannot be combined with the low interest financing they advertise on the website. Since the discount is far larger than the extra interest, the $$$$ off is a better deal.

Mind explaining your persperctive
The 20 inch sport wheels and the sport suspension that brings it lower to the ground and gives it a harder feel is better for smooth dry pavement in my opinion. I am not sure what the R stands for, but to me it is "racing". I am not saying it won't perform well on tougher road conditions, but that it is not as ideal.

I am not so sure. They don't seem to be selling so well in this area. Hence the fact that 2014 models are still on the lot.
Basically here, it is line up to get one. There are no 2014's in western Canada that I know of.
However, I was not looking for one so my search was not extensive.

That makes sense. With the drop in the CDN$, I imagine 2014s were a bargain compared to the 2015s, which are now in the $70,000+ range, I believe - much more expensive than here.
