Isn’t new oring included when buying new oil filter?

The cap is still available for around $75USD 079115433D. As stated above, every new oil filter comes with that o-ring seal, perhaps yours is just damaged. O-ring is N90782301 but I would just buy a whole new OEM filter. The caps have been known to crack when over-tightened by ignorant "mechanics".

BTW, per your vehicle in your profile, you don't have a locking front diff, it doesn't exist.

The cap doesn't appear cracked, check out the video it just seeps out where it looks like an O ring COULD be, not sure if ones supposed to be or if the cap is just plastic and tired of the Florida sun.

That O ring that comes with the filter... Does it help the filter fit into the cap or will it fill the gap im seeing oil seep from?

EVERY Touareg 2003-2010 has a two-speed centre-locking differential, so It's not really worth mentioning. You car MAY have the rear locking diff IF the selector knob has the rear position visible.

 

I posted the part number of the oil cap already, 079115433D. I see it for $72USD on e-acca.com

A new o-ring comes with EVERY new oil filter. If your cap is missing it, the previous lube tech should be quartered. You can see where it's supposed to go in this pic, it's the brown thing.

You can buy just the o-ring from VW, N90782301 but I would just buy a whole new filter as they're cheap.

 

Yes, the "flipper" who sold me this thing deserves death and worse. Will update if this o ring fixes in a min here

Nope. Just hopes and dreams sealing the cap. Quick idle test looks like it's sealed. After I drive her to work and back tomorrow I'll have a better idea.
