Currently looking and getting into a new SUV my 07 Jeep Patriot just doesnt have enough power in it, plus its only a 4x2 and I am lookin into a 4x4 anyway. I have my eyes on 2 Touaregs. A 2005 v6 with 51,564miles for a price of $17,900, in the shade of blue. Also I'm looking at another 2005, but this one with a v8 wth 47,220miles for $18,687, in the color of silver. Now I have been doing some research and stuff but I want to hear from ppl who drive them and if these deals are any good... If this is not the correct place for this please move it to the proper area. Thanks

take 8cyl in those model years if you want oomph. later v6 gasser has more right foot that earlier version, but as you are dealing with 05s, take the 8.

need more info to determine deal quality...air suspension, winter package, etc....look at ebay for price/mileage comparisons

major v8 service is 80k miles...tires should be new or next to new, brakes, etc. Check for service history, TSBs etc...i,e, have the coils been replaced?

I run highway miles and love the v8 on the open road or not so open road....it is a really nice engine and the mpg differential between 6 or 8 cylinders is miniscule.

to check the dealers websites about the features and I'll get back to you on that. I dont think either have the air-ride though I was REALLY hoping for that. I want to wheel and have enough power and this looked my best option. my Jeeps a little 4banger and i Lowered it lol. But when I get off of work tonight I'll be able to get the rest of the specs on the cars for you.

Honestly, I am a sport car nut. I own a WRX and a friend has a GTR. Talk about a fastttt cat, but the upkeep is rediculous. My wife wanted an SUV and her 1999 Buick GS was starting to show it's age. I fell in love with the Touareg. Most SUV's these days look funky to me. I suggest the TDI if you can get one. That was the selling point for me. We just got a 2010 TDI. The torque is 407 lb/sq/ft. It goes up steep hills effortlessly. I got the tow package to pull my Harley and a bass boat. The interest rates are great now as well.
Good luck Jordan,
Lou

Just got my 2004 V8 in June. LOVE IT! Best car ever! Wanted something a little more fun to drive than all of the SUVs I have driven in the past. But needed something strong enough to pull our 3,700 lbs. boat. The Touareg is heaven. Doesn't even know the boat is back there. And when I don't have a boat, it feels like a sports car to me. Put it in "S" and hit the gas, the speed is almost scary. One tip - make sure you know where you are with the brakes. Depending on whether you do the work yourself or have it done, you're looking at anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000. And rumor is that they go through them fast.

Funny, I said the exact thing to my wife last week. I was looking hard at the Lexus, Volvo and Audi. Even considered the turbo Acura. Truthfully, the Touareg TDI was more that I could pass up. It spells class like I never expected. I wasn't sure what it was going to look like when they seached for it at Sunset VW in Steubenville Ohio. It came with 20'' Pirelli's, two tone leather latte' & tan, headed seats and steering wheel, sound system and.... no DVD or navigation. Already have a Garmin GPS.
Tou'll love it when you get it!
