Hoping someone can post pics of a 2011+ Touareg TDI, equipped with the factory 20" wheels, with the front wheels turned lock to lock. I need to know how much clearance from the tire to any of the surrounding areas. I'm looking at 22 inch rims and hoping I could go with a 305/40-22 without hitting fender wells etc.
Thanks in advance

I suffered a loss of drive on two occasions. 1. After approximately 2 hours of continuous driving and 2. sudden loss of power on short city drives. the VW mechanic reckons the car fuel pumps are defective. Would there be any other causes of sudden loss of drive. The car drives normally most of the time.

Anyone able to help? Even some cell phone pics would do lol. I can't go by what mine looks like as my winter tires are a smaller profile than OEM sizing. Just need an idea of how much clearance there is when wheels are fully turned lock to lock.

Personally I think 22s are ridiculous - you destroy any off road capability - but it's your choice!!

These folk are supplying and fitting 22s as part of their Touareg Tuning/Bling packages.

Ring them up and ask what size tires they are fitting.

I don't go off road intentionally, no plans on taking a $65000+ vehicle off roading lol. Most places seem to go 285/35-22, which are smaller diameter than factory. Wondering of a 305/40-22 will fit. Want as much sidewall as possible without clearance issues.

Where is air suspension available? UK? I miss having it, my CTT had it... Damn lol
It's available in quite a few markets - but not North America!

All I require is a few pictures with the wheels cranked lock to lock, with the OEM 20" tires. Anyone out there? Lol
I'd gladly help you, as many others would, but most of us still own the previous generation T1/T2.

Calling all 2011+ T3 owners!!!!!

I still believe it would help if the T3 crowd had a separate section for them on this forum. No, I'm not suggesting we quarantine them, just sayin' ;)

I appreciate the effort, I know it's difficult to step away from the norm, especially with a newer vehicle. I just want something a little different and something I had on my CTT.
Another area for T3 owners is a great idea lol.

No, quarantine them - the glass in their tailgates doesn't open and they don't have proper 4x4s anyway!!

Ok, hope these help. I'd say there's about 1 inch of clearance from edge of tire to rear-inside of wheelwell when wheels are turned all the way. OEM 20" wheels with Pirelli Scorpions 275/45-20.
Thank you so much!!!! This is exactly what I needed to see, going to be a very close fit with 305/40-22's, going to give it a shot. Much appreciated!!

The other thing you need to be wary of is how close the inner tire wall runs to the suspension and brake pipes.

The clearance is already an issue on some VW standard wheel/tire combos for people wanting to fit snow chains.

Sorry - no pictures!!

Good point, if offset is handled correctly should be able to accommodate this size and keep it inside the fenders from what I can measure up.
