So i have a medium size dog, he's pretty well behaved and doesn't give me
much trouble. He goes everywhere with me, even to the store for 5 min. I leave him in the truck and he waits patiently until im back.

Well this morning i went to let him in the truck and to my surprise my carpet in the back is all ripped up and chewed to shi*t! If i was to ever hit animals this would be the time!! I drove a 02 qx4 before and he never damaged anything before but soon as i buy a nice new set of wheels he has to f*ck it up.

Im still pretty pissed about it but i never said a word to Kio (my dog) it was to long ago for him to understand what he did. So guess i will need to invest in a better mat in the back.

So Long story short....where do i get replacement carpet?? I have no clue.

It looks like he has damaged the board so I'd go looking in a scrap yard for that.

However, personally, I wouldn't replace anything yet.

You need to find out whether he'll do it again.

It could be he smelt something interesting on there so perhaps you should shampoo the whole trunk area first and just put some old carpet in there for a while using the tie downs to help keep it in place.

Any treat crumbs fall down the gap? He's digging for something in a very specific area.
Clean and vacuum it all up, and get a really heavy mat to cover it up for now. It's only deck carpet, it can be easily fixed.
Glad you didn't get mad at him, shows good breeding and smarts on your side!

After you figure out what the dog was digging for, I'd suggest a cargo liner. There are many options availabe from different mfgrs. Most are hard plasic or rubber.
If you don't like the hard plastic one's, heres a link to a complete canvas cover that covers the rear seatbacks and the cargo floor.
Canvasback Cargo Liner, for the Volkswagon Tiguan from Wooska

Don't forget to check the spare tire compartment under the carpet the dog chewed up, perhpas there is something in there he was digging for. Good luck.
