Muffler vs resonator

Got a question for deleted 3.0 tdi owners. Mine is currently fully deleted, even hollowed out the cat, and I getting a bit tired of the sound. I was thinking of adding a single magnaflow somewhere around the middle of the car if there is space. Or instead adding a resonator before each tailpipe tip after the y pipe I had made to replace the factory muffler. Thoughts ? I am hoping to get rid of the drone.

Resonators and cats kill drone. Mufflers kill volume and sound.

Magnaflow will sound nice I bet. They tend to be mellow. Send sound clips before and after!

I have both resonators and the center "chamber unit" deleted with an x-pipe system. I still have the OEM suitcase.
Let us know if adding the Magnaflow muffler gets rid of your drone.

Diesel versus VR6 will have very different frequencies emitted so it wouldn't be a straight line comparison unfortunately.

New2, do you have any videos? I'm not sure if I've heard your egg yet

Finally got it done. Very happy with the results. Still has a decent tone, but is less obnoxious.

I have before and after video, not sure how to upload to here. Tried to attach but they too large. Ideas ?
Easiest is if you have a Youtube channel. Upload then post link. You could also upload to a cloud storage (Google drive, iCloud, etc) and post a public link.

When I click on either of those videos it tells me an error occurred and to try again later.
Anyone else have any luck viewing them?

Is there some annoying drone in the cabin around 2,000-2,800 RPM?

Get one of these high flow all metal cats from GESI. This will tame some of the drone, will greatly reduce your emissions output and will maintain all the performance of that 3.0TDI (do you have an ECU tune?). If you are doing it yourself then you can weld this stuff in and listen before moving to the next step. Otherwise find a good muffler shop that will let you add each component and listen before trying the next part. Maybe the GESI cat is enough and you don't need to go further (and if you have the resonator and sport mufflers I mention below, those can be returned and money saved!)

But if the drone is still too much, time to look at a resonator...

Plenty of good resonators out there from Vibrant, Magnaflow, MBRP, Borla , Summit, etc. This should resolve the drone issue and give you a nicer tone overall (I prefer this route over straight piped for a daily driver). Again you can stop here and listen to the sound to make sure you're satisfied.

If it is still too loud, then I'd look at the sport mufflers from the aforementioned manufacturers. Should get you right in the sweet spot and still maintain performance.

They worked on my phone. Sound real good. What did you end up putting in?

Tried them again today and they both worked.
Sounds good. Has a nice sound.
Did it get rid of the cabin drone?

Very nice. Any driving videos?

Interesting so it's pretty quiet in the cabin? What about from the street? Like a drive-by, is it easier to hear there?
