Hello all, wondering if anyone knows a good after market set of mudflaps for a 2019/2020 Touareg as the Originals VW are a ridiculous price and I do not want to drill holes
in the wheel arch to fit, needs to fit existing plastic buttons
Thanks in advance

You have a almost new Touareg but want to put a cheap set of flaps on it? Universal ones fit my 2014 R Line but are fixed on with screws. Spend the money on OEM imho.

I have just spent £890 on refurbishing my shabby drivers seat with a new OEM VW base. Although expensive it is well worth it to have a nice looking seat again. Sometimes you do just have to spend the money.

These look ok

Thanks for the info, 650 dollars for a bit of moulded rubber is hard to swallow.
I hear you but that's even harder to swallow putting a cheap piece of **** on these and it ends up looking terrible and ghetto

Apparently the idea is not allowed in the Touareg world that there is an aftermarket out there to support... well, whatever. If there is a decent set of mud flaps for a 2011, it stands to reason that there would be a set for a 2020 - maybe. It is new, so the aftermarket can take a bit to get new models unless it is the same as the last one and they already have a product for the previous year's model.

I probably shouldn't mention that I have an aftermarket set on my 2010, because by God, it is a T2. The horror! I paid $21 for a set of 4 from Amazon. They only needed a slight bit of massaging to get them to fit in the original fender liner holes.

Sorry, I don't buy into the thought that I MUST buy items that cost several hundred dollars because the vehicle originally cost $50K +. I didn't pay $50K for it - I paid $10K. I don't need $200 apiece tires because the vehicle cost $50K new. IDGAF what it cost new. To me, it is a very nice $10K vehicle. I'll make the same decisions on buying aftermarket products or tires or wiper blades or floor mats or whatever that I do with every other vehicle I have now or have owned in the past: Does it do the job? Is it safe? Is OEM the only thing available?

And since a pic and link seems mandatory, here is the only shot I have that you can see the mud flaps in. They are $35/set now on Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F9ZNPDZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And don't even ask about the cross bars or cargo basket! LOL

Basket looks nice

Nobody is saying you must buy OEM Volkswagen splash guards (mud flaps are for 1980s American pick em up trucks not German vehicles 😉) but it's been determined that most aftermarket have terrible fitment issues on the Touareg

Welp, my left rear mud flap fell off in the last few days. I just ordered another $20 set from Amazon so I can put it back on. If the new set is different, I'll put both of the new rears on so they match.

Don't mud flaps just add to accumulating of debris in the wheel wells that cause problems with the panoramic roof drains, given they have a panoramic roof at all?

I ordered mine from Amazon for my 14 I know the OP has a 20. The ones I got are factory VW ones the only issues is the hardware they sent, some of it will work but I had to buy longer screws. You will need to do some drilling just like the factory ones. I've had a few T3's and I bought a few sets from the dealership and the ones that come from Amazon are the same thing.

These are the ones I bought.

Not the best picture of them installed.

Recently purchased F&R mud flaps for my 2022 CR Elegance from Amazon, roughly $100. Easy to fit and really only needed 1 tec screw at front to hold in using most of the original plastic fittings. What you will miss is the plastic press in fitting which holds the inner front guard with the pin in the centre - you push the pin in to release the fitting but you will loose the expanding pin into the inner guard and the fitting is not long enough to accommodate the inner guard and the mud flap. This is where I put a tec screw to hod all. The rears are not problem just using the original fittings.
Description below:

And just for the fools who wank on about going "cheap" and should of purchased as OEM at new, here is Aus any vehicle over $75K attracts a 30% luxury vehicle tax, so for every dollar above above the $75k including every accessory you buy also gets +30% so the $300 + fitting cost becomes absolute stupidity. I get its an expensive lux vehicle but hundreds and hundreds for 4 bits of moulded PE plastic isnt going to happen on my vehicle.

There is also a difference between style splash guards and useful mud flaps. I doubt the "splash guards" will have a long life off road but they do the highway job OK. For the same price I got a set of urethane rally mud flaps, that are unobtrusive and actually suit the vehicle and provide some protection to the cars paint and other road users.

The flaps I put on (mentioned above) were the same I had on my previous Treg and they got an absolute flogging on sand and gravel and gibber tracks across central and Western Oz. They did wear a little, one had a crack about an inch long and they'd roughed up inside a bit, but nothing like I would have imagined given the surfaces travelled on. That's why I went for the same again. At $60 a set I'd happily just replace them when/if they wore to the point they looked bad.

No doubt, Poly is tough. More the rigidity I was thinking of if a branch or rock got caught up. Personally I like the few extra mm side cover
I got the idea from a US forum and managed to get the same brand mud flap here in OZ. Pic courtesy of Tim on the Forum.

I chose Dark grey with Black so quite unobtrusive.

Did the type you fitted stop the mud coating the sill panel and inside the door along the bottom door seal? I dont use my Treg for real off-road but quite often travel on unsurfaced roads and end up with mud inside the door. Really annoying when it gets on your pants and why I fitted mud flaps in the first place.

I'd like to give you an answer but it seems that despite all the flooding around, I usually find myself in dryer areas so can't really say. I find the "gravel" flaps great for the bodywork and less small rocks thrown at other vehicles but the mud bit is a bit elusive.
