Hi All,

Spent the past 2 weeks driving my Son's 1.8 ltr Astra around, don't even ask.

I got into the mighty V10 today and I melted into the seat, put the stick into S, pure bliss.

1.8 litre city carts are just not for me....................

Isn't it amazing, I had a 300Kw HSV for a number of years, and getting onto it was just a daily thing to do, there is something about getting into the V10 Egg, I just can not explain what it is?

Anyway, I just wanted to share the feeling of butterflies with you all.

Gerald

Barefoot,

I must admit, I have never driven an Audi A4, especially the Quatro.

However haven driven, simple 1.8 ltr to 7 ltr V8's, I also did drive several .05 race cars. PB was a friend of a freind in Eltham. I can tell you that a 5 ltr V10 TDI is bloody quick and no comparison in terms of torque. It is simply amazing, the feeling is a little hard to describe.

I have not driven the latest Prado, Cruiser or Patrol, however I am told there is no comparison, but I am sensitive to other people's view's

The Egg V10 is something special, again it is hard to describe.

Cheers

A colleague at work has a Prado Grande - and getting in it screams "camry" or I suppose it's "aurion" now.
I was at a servo a couple of months ago when a convoy of "round-Oz-trekkers" pulled in to fuel up. You know the sort of thing... A couple of 100-series, a Troopie, some Patrols - and one Prado. All with the red dirt, extra lights, roof-racks etc. And the sticker on the back window of the prado? "PRADO - WHEN THE WIFE DECIDES" :evil_laugh:

As we all know, there is something about getting into the treg that makes driving a pleasure - and those of us who are missing 5 cylinders in our TDIs can only imagine the extra "something" of a V10!

Happy 2007 to all

No doubt. I had to have mine in service. It took them two weeks to fix- because of having to order the part, and the holidays.

Had to ride in the other half's Honda Accord..

If felt good to "be home". I was twitching I missed it soooo bad.

Yep, I got that same feeling the moment I opened the door on the Prado, very light and tinny, the inside also feels cramped (even though externally it looks bigger than the treg. I do like the touchscreen nav though.
cheers & a happy new year to all.

My sister decided on a Kluger. Some how it reminded me of a horror film.

She came over last weekend showing it off, she encouraged me to take it for a test drive, to be honest it felt like driving a delivery van with extra padding and seats, I didn't have the heart to tell her. It is promoted as the ultimate cross-over, WoW.

Should have given her my keys, it was to late.

Have never driven or stepped inside a Prado, must admit they don't look bad, but don't tell any one I said so!

I wish the Egg had as many after market accessories available though!

The Prado is taller, is it that cramped? Maybe it is thinner, track they call it, therefore it has less side room?

Anyway, the extra 5 cylinders is the x factor. I do remember first test driving a 5 cylinder Egg, the rest is history.

Happy new year to you and your family.

I have an A4 3.0 Quattro and the mighty Treg V10. The Audi is nice to drive, but I've left that for the other half to use. Something about the Treg just makes me want to drive it all day every day....
Seems to surprise everyone at the lights when the lead foot gets a bit excited!!!
And the fuel economy is about as good as the A4!
Was the best decision I ever made! A4 is up for a change later this year - do you think 2 Tregs is over the top???

My Touareg... I love it. But i have to admit that my old Voyager was alot faster. The '97 Voyager (which i sold yesterday :anger:) had 116Kw with 275Nm torque, but weighed only 2476kg, where as the Touareg has 177Kw with 310Nm torque, but it weighs 2.5+ time more than the Chrysler. The weight is the only thing i can think of that proves the Toaureg to be slower than the Voyager.

But if you look at the figures the Voyager takes 13 secs to reach 100km/h when the Reg takes only 9.8 seconds! i'm so confused.
