Middle Air Vents

Hello All, need some advice, suggestions.
I have a 04, Treg Dual Climatic control.
I am not getting any air from my middle vents and the ones in the rear middle.
Everything else works fine, I can feel air on the side vents,
the buttons to direct air, seem to be working cause I hear them doing
something. Just the middle vents? Is there a way to check if the fuse to the motor flap is gone or is it just stuck?

Thanks

At the risk of sounding a little elemental here ---- but you do have the vent controls open I'm assuming?

It could be that the vents duct came off. Same happened to mine, and just had to pop out the center console and re-attach the duct.

Yeah I mean dual -climate control, dual temp for Driver and Passenger.
Is it easy to take the center console out and maybe look at the duct?
Anyone have any pics!
Thanks for the idea 06TregV8!

Hey where exactly should I do this? I dont see any opening on the front middle vents and for the back ones, its hard to get too.

Some days it works and some days it does not? could this be just a stuck
problem or is it a valve issue somewhere?

To get to the ductwork, you need to remove the bin in the center console. You can use a flat screwdriver to gently pry out the light, then simply disconnect the connector but be careful to not crack it. Then there are two torx screws if I remember correctly on the bottom of the bin and it should slip right out. I will check later to make sure that's it but from memory that sounds about right.

Thanks I will check that out.

I am taking the treg in to my local German car repair guy and see what he says.
Will post a follow up here.

One more code showed up with this situation which makes me think this whole thing might be some bad wiring :

01336 - Data Bus for Comfort System - Open Circuit

Could anyone please tell me where this module is located so I can check out the wiring ?

Thanks

I dont understand this at all, if the car sits overnight, the vents work,
after driving and using for a bit, vents are gone! what gives?
if this was the motor it would not work the whole time, why is it working
and not working??????????????????
Someone please shed some light on this. :((
Thanks!

I had the same symptoms - but it was still two duff flap servo motors!

Nope its really weird cause I get 2 days out of em sometimes and then
bang! gone. Seems like when the car is rested it works, almost like
a valve issue, not a flap motor! I did notice when this happens
my re-circ. stops working!

Most likely a flap servo motor. Around GBÂŁ68 for the motor but GBÂŁ500 to pull the dashboard apart. I had two fail!

Great! $$$$ to blow!

Thanks "noobytoogy"
Issued has popped up again, I will check out the flap motors. All winter it worked, and now the weather is getting better (warmer) and the problem has creeped up again, hot = no work, cold = works !

Have the same problem. (posted a while ago) Did not find why yet. Only notice at long trips. Heat works great for a few hours and then no hot air from the vents. I do hear the fan blowing but again, almost no air movement. Turn of the car for a few hours and works again.

Super irritating since I can't get it to fail before going to repair guy.

will look into the servo motor as mentioned earlier. Still don't understand why it sometimes works and why sometimes not.

Local imports mechanic says vent motors are good, cant understand either why this is happening!

Were you able to find out where the flap motor is located for the rear vents by chance?

[SOLVED]
Ok here it is, believe it or not, this whole problem was caused by a leak in my vacuum system. YES. The break vacuum hose had a leak and the Touareg is designed to shut
down non priority items(Such as vents in the middle) and make sure the important items (in this case brake system) still get it. I fixed the torn hose and have not seen this problem for 4 days now. So check your vacuum route and make sure there are no leaks !
