I have a 2013 TDI sport. There are no memory seats, they are electric. I eat in the car, while parked, too much, and I move my seat all the way back while I'm munching on a burger or steak and cheese grinder. I have to move the seat forward again to "close" to where it was before the position shift for eating. Kind of a first world pain in the whatever. A really big problem ha ha.

What effort, parts, VCDS coding would be needed to change to memory seats? Is it simply a module to be installed with the existing seat, or would I need the entire seat changed to one from a higher trim level Touareg?

Yes I did a search for "memory seat swap", it was a fun 45 minute read of many posts which did not have ANY useful knowledge pertaining to a swap. Hoping for someone who has done it to chime in. I really just want to know if it's "parts only" or "major undertaking".

You will need to replace the seat panels and get the wiring, modules, and such. Doubtful any wiring is there for it. May need to do some programming as well. Generally not cheap/ feasible to ad a feature that is not there from the factory. I learned to live without it in my '10 since VW decided not to include it that year.
