What's the error?

 

It's running a P0266 #2 Fuel Injector fault and when I look that up it says a clogged injector can do this.

 

I'm highly doubting diesel purge will fix an injector error, but I am confident diesel purge will help your car run better

 

Yeah, I realize it's wishful thinking but you always start with the cheapest fix when troubleshooting.

 

I should have written it down when I stopped in Oriely's but didn't so I forgot, I'll have to get my VCDS and run it.

 

Assuming your dieselgate Warranty is expired ?

 

It has not, would running Diesel Purge through it void the warranty?

 

If you have VCDS, post the scan results. You're dealing with high tech piezo injectors not tractor nozzles.

 

I have a few faults in this scan but it's the P0266 that's causing the check engine light to come on.

Why are you bothering with all of this if it still has warranty?

 

I was planning on replacing the fuel filter and already have the diesel purge, cleaning the fuel injectors is routine maintenance which I prefer to do myself. My local dealer can't get me in for service for 3 weeks. The last time I had it in for service they took the part out and had to order the it because they didn't have it in stock so I was out of a vehicle for a week. I'm trying to avoid this happening again. Now that you have my reasoning, do you have an answer for my original question or are you just curious?

 

Injector is most likely crapping out. Log your injector deviations to see how far out of wack that one is.

 

Injector likely hammered. It happens.

 

To do the purge remove the old fuel filter, remove all fuel in the canister. Put in new filter, fill canister with diesel purge. Start the engine and run for 10 seconds then shut it off and let it sit for 30 min. After that go for a drive.
Like others have said it likely won’t fix anything.

 

Could also be injector seals leaking

 

1. First of all, what Liqui Moly You use? Is it 2666?
2. You need to have like a very clean bottle made from very thick plastic or a metal tank. During the operation the tank will get very, very hot. It also must be without any liquids or even slightest tiny parts inside. I used a bottle from two stroke oil, I removed it and put LM instead. LM itself is not capable to provide enough lubrication so the rests of the two stroke oil helped a bit. But... I did it twice in my Toyota RAV4 2.2 D-CAT, and from my experience it's a lot better to use 1 litre tank, add 0,5l of LM and then add another 0,5l of diesel fuel. This mix will provide cleaning fuel system for aprox. 60 minutes. I think 20-30 minutes is enough. Then You can check if anythng has improved and make it again.
3. You put one line from the LM tank to High Pressure pump, second line from fuel return to the LM tank. You need to make a closed circuit. This line from LM tank to HPP MUST have a fuel filter. You can't use paper one, cause it's unsuitable for diesel. You need to have net (I don't know the expression) one. It's gonna stop bigger chunks from sucking them into a HPP. So, having the lines and the tank extremely clean is VERY important.
4. The tank must be held firmly, You don't want it to tip over.
5. Start the engine and monitor if the bottle isn't melting.
6. It's good to make some stops for things to cool down.
7. When You have like a minimum amount of mix turn off the engine in order not to suck air into pressure lines.
8. After that USE a new fuel filter. It's a must.
9. If the injector has damaged overflow valve this won't help. It's caused mostly by a metal cavitation. That kind of damage is unrepairable, I mean without restoring parts.

Here are my photos form Toyota, I haven't done it in my Touareg. I'll likely put this additive together with a small amount of fuel in the tank. But I don't need to do it now.
