2012 245hp V6 TDI Touareg 235tkm
This fall, I've smelled exhaust fumes around the car when it's running, also a couple of times in the cabin while under way on low speed.
I've also noted slight change in the engine behaviour. A bit rougher idle and slightly circulating noise when driving cold.
Yesterday, while towing a light trailer, I kicked down in an uphill. The engine lost power, the glow-plug light started blinking and the car went into limb mode
I shut the car off and started again --> the car ran as normal and I drove home some 100kms - no problem.
Today, I inspected the engine with VCDS and got following two faults from engine:

5060 - Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group A
P2146 00 [096] - Open Circuit
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

So, I searched previous posts and noted that this could be a case of a leaking injector seal. e.g.

I then ran the injector deviation analytics with VCDS and noted my #3 injector is on the plus by +0.6-0.7mg/stroke.
Decided to run a 3mins spin and record the deviations while driving. Noted that in a short acceleration the positive deviation of the #3 injector grew to 3.5mg/stroke while #6 is deviating almost symmetrically downwards.

Question:
- is it propable that the limb mode is resulting from the injector deviations / possible leak?
- any other harm possibly caused by this? may have driven some 2-3000kms with the symptoms (fumes from under the hood and slightly changed idle)
