Lift Kit

Hi I'm based in Perth Western Australia
I have a Gen2 2017 TDI 4.2L Touareg with air suspension and thinking of fitting a Eurowise 2" Lift kit to give extra ground clearance.
My mechanics were fitting one to a Porsche Cayenne which are fairly identical. Aware that I probably need to fit the sub-frame drop as well.

Any comments would be appreciated

Yea from my research as well as talking with a buddy who had a cayenne, it is important when doing excessive lifts (over 1.5") to add the sub frame drop. This allows for the natural angle of your CV joints and such, reducing wear/tear on the joints caused by increased height.

I don't want to be misleading, but this is what i have learned from peers and from some light research on the google machine. Also i believe Eurowise has a great description on their lifts/frame drops about the reasoning.

Should be identical assuming one doesn't have air and the other does

With factory air suspension, you already get about as much ground clearance as the axles can support without damage, so a lift kit won't actually give you much more ground clearance, but instead more articulation and a better ride at about the same height- this is a big improvement in offroad ability. You're not supposed to use 'offroad' or 'X-tra' height modes with a lifted air suspension.

You absolutely want the subframe drop to save your axles from damage, because you will no longer able to go as low when driving lots of miles on the road. Get the 1/2" one that is sold with the lift kit.

Personally, I think the main advantage of the air suspension is to be able to go low for on road driving... if you are doing serious enough offroading to need lifted air suspension, I would consider just going to a coilover spring/shock setup instead.
