Any body know the solution?
the left rear door does not lock.
I can lock it with the remote, with the lock button inside the car and the lock it outside with the little button or with the key.
All door will remain locked but the one door will not.
If the car is locked and you open that door the alarm does go off.

Any ideas?

My V10 has been suffering similar problems - it is currently being sorted out under warranty.

Essentially it appears that the antennae in the door handles are no longer communicating effectively with the kessy unit (ecu).

Firstly the VW dealer changed the driver's door handle - that worked for a day or so but then failed. So they then changed the kessy unit but that made no difference.
They have now decided to change the remaining three door handles in the hope that new handles + new kessy unit will do the trick!

Thank God I'm not paying for all this! Each door handle has to be sprayed to colour match etc etc!!

Hopefully this will be my last visit to the dealership regarding this problem!

Cheers,
John.

It looks like this thread is a bit out of date but I'm hoping someone can still help me.

I'm seeing this same problem; for a few months now my drivers-side rear door would not lock or would lock very intermittently (once every ~100 attempts). A few months back my battery also died and after replacing the battery the door began locking again... I'm not sure why but I wasn't going to complain. In the last month the door began NOT locking again and just this week the other passenger door also stopped locking.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this problem? FYI this is a 2004 v8 model without the keyless entry option. So I don't believe this is a problem with the KESSY module as someone previously mentioned. Is there another way to "reset" the system to get it to re-lock the doors, given the intermittent nature of the problem it doesn't appear to be mechanical.

I did try disconnecting the battery and re-connecting to attempt to reset the system but it didn't work. I don't know if I didn't leave it disconnected for long enough (clearly with the battery dead it was off for a while as opposed to just a few seconds when I simply disconnected the battery).

Thanks for any help,
Pete.

I have a 2004 VW Touareg V8 with keyless door locks. My passenger rear door would not lock. Activating the rocker switch inside resulted in no discernible movement.
After reading all posts on the subject, I tried the obvious solution and checked the fuse on the passenger side with the lock/unlock icons. It was fine, but apparently removing and replacing it reset the locks. Now all door locks operate!
I hope it works for anyone with this problem.

Hi, Old Post io know but hopefully you are still around. When you attempted to lock the car, did that particular door still make a noise?

In my case my RH rear door won't lock. I noticed the LH rear door is louder during the locking process, and it is working fine. The RH does still make a noise though so i reckon it's trying, but something mechanical must be stopping it.
