LED Bend Light Replacements

Just a rant - I've finally got LED Bend Lights Installed and working. Damn what a pain, but worth it cause my halogen ones kept burning out on me. Anyone wondering about upgrading to LED Bend lights that you if you order cheap ones off ALI Express you most likely will need to order CAN-BUS error adapters.

My Bend lights are now brighter than my head lights, wasn't expecting that....I'm hoping they last longer than a couple of months.

Also with that stupid blinking error light gone it seems that other things have now starting working that weren't before and errors cleared up on there own which puzzles me.

If anyone reads this I wanna put a question out - Have you experienced cascade electrical failures by which I mean, when one thing doesn't work on your Touareg a bunch of other electrical things don't seem to work either? but when you fix a known problem other things start to work correctly that were good before?

Anyways

The halogen cornering light. It is inboard of the xenon bulb and comes on when making turns at slower speeds and when the turn signal is on. Think of the luxo boats with a light that comes on on the fender when they are turning.

The halogen corner aka the static light is independent of the turn signal.
Try activating the turn signal then slow to turning speed and see if the cornering light doesn't come on. Mine does.

Note: the cornering lights don't activate if the fogs are on.

...and yes to the cascading code scenario. Other than critical warnings such a "no oil moron" I've taken to always clearing codes and wait to see what comes back before I take it too seriously. A low battery will set off codes and even a legit code will trigger other codes than don't themselves need attention.

Perfect example is the lengthy thread I just posted regarding my static corner lights. Had all sorts of power and module codes but after a deep dive turns out the burned out xenon I just fixed locks out the static corners but doesn't show a code.

it's like we used to teach in basic sales training...if a customer objection doesn't come up at least 3x it's probably not that important.

I guess I never knew this because my Bi-Xenon bulbs must overpower the illumination of the "bend bulbs".
Well I can count the wallabies in my front yard before I finish turning into my yard from the road with my "bend bulbs"
Don't need the blinker on.
Have bi-xenon headlights.
In low range, the bi-xenon get into the act and turn also.

My point for the blinker was that the bend light will illuminate before you turn the wheel when your speed is slow enough. With no blinker, it will illuminate when the wheel turns far enough to trigger it.

Interesting on the low range and xenons turning. I'll have to try that.

I've only had one bulb go out but I replaced both so the light would be equal to my eyes. I bought my Treg in Oct of 2020 so only that one in over two years. No idea how old that bulb was though.
