Two whole days??????????????????????????????

Took me half a day on my garage floor. Granted I did not totally clean or wax my wheels but two days?

 

Cleaning inside and outside rims and waxing can take 2-3 hours if you do it perfectly, so i could see 2 days. especially if you take your time to make sure everything is done right.

That's some anti-corrosion coating on the Zimmermanns! Do you happen to know what the friction rating of those Wagner pads are? My guess is that if the pads are not Euro R90 certified, they are probably much less than "GG". (http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f44/whats-your-brake-pads-friction-rating-43412.html) How's the initial bite and pedal effort required for the Wagners?

Did you grind the non-directional finish onto the front rotors, like on the hub as well? How about the rear rotors, did you just leave them as is?

I bought the parts 18 months ago and since I don't drive the truck all that much I was in no hurry but since I will be selling it soon I knew I should do it now. I used Brembo front rotors, Zimmermann rears, Wagner front pads, and the rear pads were like new Brembos so I left them alone. The parking brake shoes looked like new as well. I was going to paint the calipers red but after thinking about it decided red wouldn't look right on a grey truck. The calipers are anodized? aluminum Brembos so I just cleaned them a little and added white Brembo decals.

I don't know about the friction rating but they feel the same as the old pads. And the rotors were brand new and were left as is.

 

So are the rear brakes even working? The pads should wear about evenly front to rear.

 

Not sure what you mean. Front brake pads always wear more than the rears since they do more work.

 

EBD is a safety measure that provides maximum braking power under panic situations. Like ABS, during normal braking it has no effect.
