I'm creating this thread to maintain an index of, and links to Touareg parts you can 3D print at home. Nowadays you can get a good modern 3D printer for under $200, and instantly print discontinued or unobtainable parts in the comfort of your own home. You can also print for free at many public libraries, or order parts online by uploading an STL file from websites like Shapeways.

I'm planning to make a bunch of parts for my Touareg that improve the interior functionality somewhat, and will be sharing them free, but will also keep a general index here based on model. I've already printed a toy white T2 Touareg for my son to play with.

Beware of materials compatibility when printing-- car interiors get very hot and can melt many plastics, and of course engine parts get even hotter. Materials like PLA don't work outside because of moisture and UV. Some people seem to have success with PETg for interior parts, but that might depend on the specific filament used, and the climate you live in. Often you can prototype a part with something like PLA on a generic printer, test for fitment, and then order it 3D printed in a durable material like ABS or even metal with an expensive printer, through online services.

If there are multiple versions/files/designs for the same thing, I will try to group the links on a single bullet

Please post anything you make or find, or requests. If you have an idea for a cool T1/T2 part, I or someone else might design it and send you one for free as thanks for the idea!

T1/T2 parts

T3+ parts

Unsure which model or part (help me figure these out!)

Is the replacement dial in T1/T2 for the mirror adjustment/heater knob? That's about the only thing I can think of that sticks up like that.

ETA: comment says folding mirror control. I may print it and see if it works for what I said above.

The top of this print is the bottom because I wanted the visible top smoother. It also looks bad because I was experimenting for another print and didn't change it back for this one. It wouldn't be visible, so no worry if it had worked. Diameter of the top part is bigger but wouldn't hurt anything.

The vent knob is fine. Like I said, a slight bit bigger, but nothing that really needs changing. A PO used some tape to try to fashion an adjuster at some point. I guess I should finish getting the glue residue off.

Stock vent knob for reference.

I made these, but if anyone wants the file, reach out
Someone on here a couple of months back or so was looking to get one of these separately from the panel.
Wish I knew who is was so I could tag them.
