Hi Guys. I'm new to all this having just traded in my Landcruiser for a '13 V6 Touareg. It will be towing a van among other things and I was wondering if it was possible to use the in dash screen to display the rear view camera on the van. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim

You want to keep the backup camera watching the van while driving or parking? That is not a good idea because the camera will be hot if you keep it working for long time. It will damage the camera. Why do not you use a DVR on the rear window and keep it display on the front screen.
He would only use it for parking. With anything hitched up, there really is no point in looking at the stock camera for me anyway as I use my mirrors. It would be great having a camera view on the arse end, especially when reversing the boat into the shed as I could get it up against the wall instead of using a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling which is a bugger when your mates move the ball by 5" and you send your outboard through the corrugated iron wall.

we have a "Safety Dave" rear camera set-up
1. Rear facing camera on the back of the van. Aids in reverse parking (has microphone capability too) and watching/confirming traffic following me/us
2. Low mounted camera on Touareg rear (directly in line with hitch mount) - assists in hooking up etc.

Both cameras feed into a 6" Audio/Video(colour) monitor, that I can select which feed I want to see.

Works a treat.
