Bad sensor? Wild guess.

 

VCDS and scan, and get back to us.

 

I will but won't be able to do it until January 3rd. Can this be related to the stepper motor?

 

Mine was a bad ESP switch. It comes on and off though.

 

I know about the sticky switch. Not the case here

 

Oh. Didn't know that was what caused it.

 

Could be brake light switch. Common problem on Golf 4 and Polo, same symptoms.

 

So, anything to report from your scan? :curious

 

Not yet, my mechanic opens his shop tomorrow

 

I called my mechanic just to get his advice, he mentioned the brake switch as Johan said. I am going in his shop tomorrow and will report back

 

Pulled out the center console, disconnected the switch connecnted it back again, cleaned the area around the button, and that didn't sort the problem out.. Battery is also only 9 months old, so that shouldn't be the cause.. It only remains to try aa VCDS scan tomorrow and see what error codes I aam dealing with..

 

My ESP light came on when the pressure sensor G201 that is fitted under the brake master cylinder failed.
Easy to check with VCDS and not to bad to fix if that was your issue.

Steering wheel problem.. I need wheel alingment.. I'll do it tomorrow and see if that turns the ESP light off

I noticed that I need to hold the steering wheel a bit to the right when i go straight. I hit a rock when off rroading 2 weeks and probably that messed up the front wheels

Yea that could do it i did some suspension work and the wheel was off enough that the esp light came on when i was going to the wheel alignment spot.

Did the wheel alignment today, driven the car 5 miles and pushed the ESP button, the light was off.. Thank you all for the help
