My V8's battery will soon be needing a change. Although it's the same year as the CFO's V6, the method of opening the FOB to access the battery is not the same. Can anyone shed some light as to how many different versions there are to get this case opened? TIA

You need to check it again, they are all the same with the Tregs. My 04 and my 2010 are the same. :) Flip the key up and remove the panel from below the VW emblem. That simple! ;)

I just changed the battery on mine a couple of days ago.
Honestly, I walked up to the VW parts counter, and asked them for a set of batteries and then also asked if THEY needed to do this. Guy said no, showed me how to do it. You just flick it open where Yeti described with your fingernail(if it is a strong one ;)) or any other flat blade device. Battery change should really take you 20 seconds MAX!

So if I remember right from the CFO's one, you pry between where the ring holder is right?
