Horn problem..

Hi,
I got 2008 touareg V6 TSI.
About two months ago, the horn sound of my T2 was dead.
So, I went to the dealer last week to fix that probelm.
They checked horn and fuse I guess, and told me dual horn and fuse had no problem.
They told me that there might be a problem in electric wires through the horns, and my car is still fixing...
I doubt that they can fix the problem because I saw them studying with the manual books yesterday.

Please help me with your professional knowledge..

The (Hella) dual horns on the Touareg, Q7 & Touareg are notorious for failure. This was quoted to me by a former Porsche Shop Foreman.

OEM horns are crap. They last 4years or 4 days.
I replaced my Touareg and Cayenne horns - believe or not - with GM horns from Caprice Classic. Really annoying and loud sound, and they are propably the last functioning part in those cars after few decades.

If they checked those horns in service, did they remove front bumper? If not, they are not able to REALLY check if horns are OK
