I just bought a 2011 Volkswagen Touareg 3.6 FSI with 90,000 miles. After a couple of weeks of use, I had issues with the oil cooler, which caused oil to enter the cooling system. Now that it has been replaced and I can finally test it properly, I've noticed that one tank of fuel (approximately 20 gallons) gives me around 186 miles. The average fuel consumption is 7 MPG with city driving and staying below 2,000 RPM. Is this normal, or could there be an issue with my SUV?

I have a 2007 3.6 that is heavier and this mpg is not normal might check plugs, and air filter.

when you calculate do it at the pump with actual gallons used and with actual miles driven don’t use the guess o meter.

My '11 3.6 FSI has a 26 gallon fuel tank. I thought they all did.
I get 19-21 mpg depending on how much/often I get on it. I have 111k+ miles on mine.
If this is what the vehicle is calculating your mpg to be when scrolling through the clusters menu options than I'd definitely say it's too low.
Do you have a CEL on? Do you have VCDS to scan and look for faults?
