Hi there,

I've not bought it yet but I've found a very well looked after (interior and exterior are mint) and have a few questions about an 05 V8 with 140k kms on it. (I was very surprised how clean it was)

Now on to the meat of this, the truck has been hit in the rear. 7k hit as well as a front end hit that was 2k. The light was replaced. I want to know where I can get the exact bulb as to match the other side as its a bit off. I suspect its an aftermarket or different kelvin. The front dash is showing suspension error. The front raises fine, but the back doesn't. The used dealer, not VW says they'll fix it of course before the delivery day.

So here I am wanting the truck as it has nav, air susp and xenons as I notice a lot of sales but none have all of those options.

Regardless I'm coming out of an 08 X5 to get this truck and save about 15k in cash after the sale of my X to get this Treg. Yes, its likely going to be used for fixes but its still a nice truck and I think its worth the chance to take since the dealer says he'll fix the issue......

who knows....wondering your thoughts on if its something he can just simply fix, maybe being a sensor or the bags...are they all individually compressed? I assume so...newbie still mind you.

thanks very much and all the best

I recently purchased an 06 that was similarly equipped, and it's worth noting that my nav is pretty much useless as it is. It freezes easily, requiring you to eject the disc and put it back in, and it throws odd errors when trying to input addresses.

On the bright side, my phone will sit nice and sturdy on the left side of my instrument cluster, providing the perfect view to use its GPS.

Other than that, make sure they get the suspension fixed, save some cash just in case something else comes up, and enjoy the sweet ride!

Also, make sure if they did an oil change that they used the correct oil. I was informed today that even though the Toyota dealer I bought mine from did an oil change, it was not the correct type.

Good choice going from the X5 to the V8 Touareg, even if it's reverse in years.

If the paint and bodywork looks ok, you could be in OK shape.
Have you gone through the checklist for buying a used touareg?

By suspension error, please be specific. I'm guessing it's a Running Gear Fault?
I'd be very careful with the suspension error and make it go away before forking over any cash. Besides the obvious rear air problem there are a host of other issues that could contribute to a Running Gear Fault, not the least of which is a host electric issues.

Pick it over with a fine tooth comb or your savings reserve could dissipate as rapidly as a tank of gas!
