Hello All,

Your help is needed. I enabled AUX IN on the RNS850 via the hidden engineering menu. All is working well but now I have hard DTC in 5F that I can't clear. I assume it is SVM coding related. I am using latest VCDS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the VCDS scan. I attempted to converse with member Lysy but it will not allow me to reply to him because I am new.

It looks like I messed up. It was my first post and I posted in a general repair section. Not sure if I got the tag thing right. It will still not allow me to reply to anyone’s conversations.

Are you referring to the /diagnose/settings/ami_aux screen ?
View media item 7799Input on the MMI3GP/RNS850 AMI/MDI port is enabled by a "detect" signal provided by the adapter cable used on the AMI port (to select the kind of input: AUX, USB, or iPod). When NO adapter cable is attached, AUX is shown as "disabled" in the GEM and AUX-IN is not selectable as a Media source. Depending on what you're trying to do, this can be by-passed at the QuadLock connector. Set "AUX" back to [disabled] to remove the DTC. --g

That is correct. All I did is enable the AMI port, AUX-IN setting on the RNS850. No faults in the RNS850. The only hard fault in the complete vehicle is 5F Information Electronics module. Will not clear. I assume it coding related due to me enabling the AMI port AUX-IN on the RNS850.

AUX-IN is enabled automatically when the main unit finds electrical continuity between terminals T12y/6 (green terminal block) and T4ap/4 (curry FAKRA HSD) on the main unit, which is supplied by the proper AMI/MDI adapter cable. It is not intended to be "enabled" in the GEM. --g
