Hi I just got my Touareg washed at a service station. I live in the UAE so over here it is a trend to spray the engine with a mixture of oil and water after a wash(don't ask me why). Anyway I never get it done but this time the guy used the spray without informing me. By the time I noticed it was too late. Anyway I got the guy to soap up the engine engine and spray it down with water to remove the stuff. I started the engine and it worked just fine and I drove off without any problems. In the evening after having driven for almost 60Kms I was at a traffic signal. When the light turned green I accelerated quickly and slowed down after a hundred yards but then when I accelerated again I noticed the engine had a vibrating feel, the power was not there but the car would still go. I stopped the car the engine was running fine at low revs. But on revving it there was that noise again.

I'm just wondering if a spark plug has died or is it something else. My car is almost 40Kms and due for a service shortly. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? The VW service is closed tomorrow it being a weekend. I'm wondering what the problem is and what to do.

perhaps a mild case of hydrolocked your car...?

its highly doubtful for the engine to suck up water through the intake but its possible.

i took my tregg across a small creek last week, and it didnt accelerate like it used to. i just simply turned it off and let it sit and dry for 8 hours. and works fine now.

Probably he water the coil packs...That was the case with mine when i first bough it..I just went back to the dealer and had them to replace the CoilPacks...Car drove like s...t,
