Random stuff that might help.

Look at the tach? Does it stay at zero when the failed start occurs?

A dead engine speed sensor will stop the engine from starting. The tach will generally show zero while cranking.

A dead cam sensor will generally create a long start condition. The ECU can compensate, but the engine has to turn over many times before the computer can compute and compensate.

Remember the engine speed sensor often goes intermittent when it dies. This leads to the won't start 90 minutes after shut off but will start the next day problem.
