Sorry for the shout, but I'm really unsure how to resolve this. I took out the head unit (RNS2) to take out a parrot MK9200. When I replaced the head unit it when into "Safe Mode" as expected but when I went to put the code in the head unit is telling me the "Safe Mode Plug" is not connected. No wires were cut. I simply unplugged everything connected to the Parrot. I also waited an hour with the unit on to re-set but the unit still tells me the same thing.

Can anyone help me out????

Thanks in advance.

Sim.

Always put the problem in the headline - not just "Help!"

People who may know the answer might not bother opening your thread and it doesn't help anyone else who may have the same problem later when they use the Search facility.

If I had, I'd have told you!

Member Spockcat might be able to point you in the right direction - he has done the Parrott thing and might be familiar with your phenomena. Send him a PM (Private Message)

Hello to everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I found the problem by taking the head unit out and tracing the plug and play connectors back towards the firewall. There I found two connectors, one brown and one black that fit into the main harness at the back of the head unit. I guess when the installer installed the Parrot MK9200 he didn't need these so he pushed them out of the away.

When I connected them the unit powered up and everything is back to normal. I didm't have to code the unit at all. What I'm going to do now is clean up the space a bit so theres more room as I will be installing a BT mod.

Please let me know how to upload pics as I'm unsure how to do this. I also want to thank everyone who responded to my thread. Without your input I would never have attempted to pook around in side. All the best and thanks again. Take care......Sim.

I routed my BT module to the glove compartment, which gives me instant access to it. I recently bought GROM BT adapter, which required firmware update one 2 weeks after and another one about 2-3 week after that. Not big of a deal but after first update i decided to tuck BT adapter to glove box compartment so i would not have to remove stock radio back and forth. I used a velcro strap to attach BT unit to the top of compartment so it is out of the way but very easily accessible all the time.
