I love the old Kombi pick-up.

My first job as a boy was riding on the big bumper on the back of the local milk float - a blue pick-up. Me on one side and another boy on the other and when the milkman stopped he'd shout the orders and we'd each race off to the front doors of the houses on our respective side and deliver the order and then race back with the empty bottles.

We could do the round in about half the time it would take the guy when we were back at school and we got the magnificent sum of two shillings a day - which I guess would be about half a dollar 50 years ago!

Today, driving along at 30 mph whilst we were standing on the bumper would get the milkman locked up!

Saturdays took us longer as we had to collect the money as well which was a bummer on the one hand but we got to see some interesting early morning sights on the other . . . . .

Good memory nooby - most people have a kombi story, it's funny when you stop for petrol what some people say. I usually get asked what year first then they go on to tell you about the one they used to own etc.

Tell me - is there a Touareg wave like there is a kombi wave? I did it today and I just got a blank look...

A huge thanks goes to Drag for having a look and drive of Reggie this morning. First up, the handle broke on the bonnet release, so he got that open for me. Then he topped up things for me and ran a scan. He then took it for a quick drive.

At least he didn't tell me to F#*k off! LOL

No doubt he will be seeing Reggie again pretty soon.

Oh well good for you anyway. How is the hunt for seats etc going? it looks pretty bad in there, i'm not sure how the previous owner trashed it so much ! . Anyhoo ,It's a safe car all the same. Catchya round .
